We’re in the waning weeks of winter, a time where we start making preparations for spring cleaning. We’re selecting seeds for this year’s plantings, managing the snow and ice on our property, completing indoor projects, and planning for the spring and summer.
Each Saturday in March we are hosting Know Your Farmer series in our Tap Room, which showcases a different local farmer each week with a talk about their business, an indoor mini market featuring their products, and a special brunch menu highlighting something from our visiting farmers alongside a featured cider of our own.
The brunch menu will be available from noon-3pm, and the Know Your Farmer talk will be 1-2pm. These events are free to attend and family-friendly! (Food and cider available for purchase.) Come learn about modern farming from the region’s agricultural community, and know your farmer!
This month we’ll be hearing from:
March 2: garlic + sheep: Icelandic wool, lanolin products from sheep raised at Virtue Cider. Cider feature: Lambs Wool (hot spiced cider)
March 9: Granor Farm: milled winter rye from Three Oaks, Michigan. Cider feature: Spirit Springs
March 16: Dreamgoats: raw milk and dairy products from nomadic herd. Cider feature: Michigan Apple
March 23: Pleasant Hill Farm: Michigan-grown blueberries. Cider feature: Michigan Cherry
March 30: Faith's Farm: heritage breed pork, and farm-grown herbal wellness and personal care products. Cider feature: Michigan Brut
